To standardize the depiction of administrative boundaries in various types of maps of Beijing, ensure the accuracy of boundary delineation, administrative division names, and government office locations, and meet the needs of both map-making entities and the general public, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources and the Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau have, in accordance with the Beijing Surveying and Mapping Regulations and the Administrative Boundary Management Measures of Beijing, jointly organized the revision and compilation of the 2025 Edition of the Base Map of Beijing’s Administrative Boundaries. The updated map series is hereby released, and the relevant details are announced as follows:
I. Composition of the 2025 Edition Map Series
The 2025 Edition of the Base Map of Beijing’s Administrative Boundaries includes a total of 27 color maps, as follows:
1. Four maps of the entire municipal area of Beijing, in four formats: double folio, quarter folio, eighth folio, and sixteenth folio.
2. Five maps of the central urban area (Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Fengtai, Shijingshan, and Haidian districts), in five formats: double folio, quarter folio, eighth folio, sixteenth folio, and thirty-second folio.
3. One map of the Core Functional Area of the Capital (Xicheng and Dongcheng districts) in eighth folio format.
4. One map of the Beijing Sub-Center (Beijing Municipal Administrative Center) in eighth folio format.
5. Sixteen maps, one for each of Beijing’s sixteen districts, in eighth folio format.
The base map features administrative boundaries, names of administrative divisions, and locations of government offices as primary elements, while also depicting hydrological features, major railways and roads, settlements, parks, and green spaces. Compared with the previous edition, the 2025 version incorporates updated and refined geographic information to reflect current conditions, meeting the requirements of each district for map expression and application. The series serves as the official base reference for the preparation of all maps of Beijing and can also be used by the public to access relevant geographic information. The maps are available in JPG and PDF formats.

The 2025 Edition of the Base Map of Beijing’s Administrative Boundaries is available free of charge to all users. It can be downloaded from the following websites:
