The Commission’s various departments, bureaus, affiliates, surveying and mapping agencies, and social groups related:
August 29, 2022 marks the 19th Publicity Day for the National Survey and Mapping Law, as per deployment of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Commission will organize the Beijing 2022 Survey and Mapping Law Publicity Day and National Awareness Publicity Week with the theme of “standardized use of maps without the slightest errors”.

III. Arrangement
1. Theme activities
Activity 1: Publicity activities. On August 28, the Commission work in association with the China Map Publishing Group and other agencies and organized the national map awareness activity theming “Love and Understand the Map of China without Comprises”. The campaign helped children build awareness of the national map, strengthened their loyalty to the Party and boosted patriotism. The Commission plans to organize 20 children aged between 7 and 12 to experience map culture by visiting map stores; organize professional teachers to teach knowledge about the map of China; and to memorize the key points of the national map in the form of games.
Activity 2: Seminar on the standardized use of maps in new media: On August 30, the Commission worked with the Publicity Department and the Internet Information Office of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and organized a seminar with Internet enterprises such as Baidu, Sina and Netease on the “standardized use of maps in new media”. The seminar highlighted the importance of standardized use of maps among key Internet search and media platforms in Beijing, and explored the prospect of map management via new technologies.
2. Thematic publicity
The Commission streamlined the contents posted previously on its official microblog and WeChat platforms related to maps, and plans to submit certain articles to the Natural Resources Newspaper highlighting the Commission’s map services, map review and supervision in recent years so as to promote public awareness.
3. Repost of promotional clips on new media platforms
Repost the awareness videos and new media contents produced by the Ministry of Natural Resources on the platforms of the Commission’s official website, WeChat and Weibo accounts, and mobilize relevant organizations to join the reposting campaign.
4. Organize and participate in the series of activities held by the Ministry of Natural Resources
The Commission will actively organize and participate in the series of activities organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources, such as “Media Awareness of the National Map”, online quiz on map knowledge and national knowledge competitions.
IV. Work Requirements
All relevant organizations shall seriously follow the requirements of this Notice, and actively engage in publicity activities around August 29 through their official websites, WeChat and other platforms by reposting awareness videos and e-posters. The Commission encourages all relevant agencies to organize a variety of awareness campaigns and publicity activities on the theme of the National Surveying and Mapping Law. All publicity activities should strictly observe the Covid-19 rules, abide by the Eight-point Disciplinary Rules of the CPC Central Committee, refrain from formalism and bureaucracy, and practice diligence and frugality.
As required by the General Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources, after the activity week, please send the summary of activities in videos, photos or other formats to the Geographical Names and Information Management Division of the Beijing Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Commission (dmdxc@ghzrzyw.beijing.gov.cn) by email before September 6.
