To further implement the municipal government’s strategy of “City Built Around Transit”, Comrade Zhang Yaqin recently led a team from the Rail Transport and Integrated Transport Departments to test ride the up-and-coming Subway Line 12 and Line 3, and to survey the integrated planning and construction of rail transport and surrounding areas. Representatives from the subway company accompanied the field visit.
The team visited project sites at Dazhongsi Station, Anhuachao Bridge Station, Dongba North Station, Workers’ Stadium Station, and Chaoyang Station to examine the integration between rail transport and commercial, sports, and transport hubs. They also listened to briefings from relevant units on the progress of subway lines to be opened this year.
Zhang emphasized that guiding urban development with rail transport is now a shared consensus. Efforts should continue to improve station-area integration and service quality to maximize the comprehensive benefits of rail transit. The construction of Line 12 and Line 3 will enhance the regional network and improve east-west rail connections in the urban core. The survey aims to gather best practices, innovate approaches, and further explore integrated development models to support high-quality development of the capital city.
