On the morning of July 5th, Tao Zhihong, a Level-2 Inspector from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources, led a delegation to Niujie Street to investigate the Fayuan Temple Cultural Preservation and Enhancement Project in Xicheng District. The investigation team included officials from the Commission’s Land Surveying, Survey and Design, Geographic Information, Technology, and Big Data departments. Chen Tingwu, Deputy Party Secretary of the Institute, and Wu Jun, Deputy Director of the Institute, accompanied the investigatory visit.

Recently, the Fayuan Temple Cultural Preservation and Enhancement Project was recognized as the “Beijing Green Ecological Demonstration Zone.” From Fayuan Temple to Lanman Hutong, the team conducted a thorough on-site inspection, visiting key project sites such as the upgraded Huayun - Lilac Hotel, the livable Talent Apartment Community, and the Red Reception Hall, which showcases the significant transformations in Niujie under party leadership. The team examined the progress in parking management, cultural innovation, old town preservation, the construction of party branches, heritage revitalization, and relocation efforts, all contributing to the creation of a historically and culturally rich district.

Discussions were held on topics including historical and cultural district development, regional construction, street renewal, guild hall (business clubhouses from Ming and Qing dynasties) culture, grassroots governance, hutong relocation, and old town protection.

Following the investigation, Tao Zhihong delivered a special lecture titled “Strong Disciplinary Support for Advancing Comprehensive and Strict Party Governance.” The lecture emphasized the importance and necessity of ongoing party discipline education in alignment with the capital’s planning and natural resources work. Tao elaborated on the significant aspects of party discipline education, correlating violations with specific disciplinary provisions from the Party’s regulations, and analyzing both subjective and objective factors of infractions. The lecture stressed the importance of maintaining a clear political stance, strengthening party discipline education, and being courageous and skillful in the struggle, providing essential guidance for furthering discipline education within the Institute.
