On May 29, Zhang Wei, Party Secretary and Director of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources, led a team to BMICPD to assess the progress of reforms at the Homedale Urban Planning & Architects Co., Ltd. (“Homedale” hereinafter), an enterprise affiliated to BMICPD. The inspection featured reports from Shi Xiaodong, Institute Director, Liu Hong, Party Secretary of the Institute, and related departments of Homedale.
During the report session themed “New Thinking, Greater Support”, Homedale presented a comprehensive report on its work following reforms initiated in 2018 and its transition to direct supervision by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission in 2023. The discussion included insights into the company’s development direction and values through thematic educational practices. The meeting also reviewed the location and renovation plans for Homedale’s new office at Shilipu.
After the presentations, Comrade Zhang Wei commended Homedale for its support of the Commission and BMICPD’s operations and outlined three expectations:
1) Define the enterprise’s core competitiveness. Seize opportunities from the relocation and new office site to enhance design quality and capacity, remain attuned to policy trends, engage in forward-thinking, and align with China’s economic trends to accurately identify core competitive strengths.
2) Highlight the unique developmental advantages of the enterprise. Reform efforts should align with distinctive features, exploring core competitiveness in the context of urban renewal, enhancing planning awareness, leveraging precision design strengths, and transforming planning resources into premium design outputs.
3) Strengthen integrated development between the Institute and the enterprise. The enterprise should root itself in culture and planning, effectively address social realities through humanistic efforts, and produce tangible case studies. Enhance integration and strategic planning to cultivate top talents, encourage originality, innovate in planning and design integration, and use design to support and add value to planning.
The meeting clarified the direction for the future development of the Institute’s affiliated enterprises, with Comrade Zhang Wei expressing hopes that Homedale would maintain high standards and fully demonstrate its capabilities in its future endeavors.
