Comrade Zhang Yaqin recently led a delegation to the rail company for investigation into the planning and construction progress of key rail transit projects in 2024. The inspection trip was accompanied by Comrade Liu Ronghua from the Commission, representatives from the Railway Department, Urban Utility Department, Beijing Infrastructure Investment Corporation, and the rail company.
The trip reviewed the progress of ongoing rail transit lines, the planning and construction initiatives for 2024, and the challenges encountered. Adhering to the principles of “addressing core issues and fostering internal and external connections,” and with a key emphasis on high-quality development, advancing rail construction project, addressing existing obstacles, the meeting was convened to produce recommendations on specific issues and concerns.
Comrade Zhang commended the Beijing Infrastructure Investment Company for its contributions to rail transit planning and construction. She called for greater efforts on 1) addressing legacy issues by expediting rail transit procedures and enhancing management of land for ad hoc purposes; 2) advancing integrated construction of rail transit projects, optimizing underground space while considering the installation of pipeline corridors; 3) prioritizing pedestrian experience and street crossing comfort, and enhancing the design quality of multi-line interchange stations.
