Zhou Tongwei Inspects Beijing Municipal Institute of City Planning & Design

On the afternoon of March 5, Zhou Tongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director General of Beijing Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Commission, led a team to the Beijing Municipal Institute of City Planning & Design (the “Institute”) for an inspection trip. Relevant comrades from the Party Committee and the HR Department of the Commission sat down with members of the Party Leadership Group of the Institute, its chief planner, Party Secretary and President Shi Xiaodong for an in-depth exchange of views. President Shi Xiaodong presided over the exchange meeting.

Zhang Xiaoxin, Deputy Party Secretary of the Institute, gave a detailed presentation of the Institute and its main activities. Discussions were held over topics such as strengthening Party leadership, building of the cadres and talents team, planning and research, planning management and implementation, etc.

Shi Xiaodong vowed to extend full support to the Commission, with better technical services to various districts, better integration of party building and business, greater integrity, as well as better talents to better perform the duties of the Institute.

Comrade Zhou Tongwei recognized the Institute’s outstanding political commitment, its efforts in strengthening party building, business capabilities, and talent development. He commended the Institute’s contributions to the city’s planning work. Regarding this year’s work arrangement, Zhou outlined four key tasks: 1) Strengthen cross-sector integration to promote multi-sectoral and multi-disciplinary collaboration in planning, construction, and governance. 2) Enhance synergy and efficiency through greater collaboration with the Commission and various districts. 3) Prioritize project execution by strengthening feasibility studies, managing the pace of land development and optimizing cost projection and work plans. 4) Improve integrity by strengthening Party discipline, enhancing the talents team, and enforcing accountability for party leadership.
