With a view to thoroughly check the inventory of state-owned natural resources assets, identify potential problems and summarize experiences, Xu Zimeng, Director of the Inventory and Statistics Department of MOHURD’s Division of Rights and Interest, recently led a team on an inspection tour to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources. Representatives of the Commission’s Rights and Interests Office, Dongcheng Bureau, Pinggu Bureau and agencies undertaking the pilot program attended the inspection meeting. 

At the meeting, the Rights and Interests Office reported the pilot inventory work in Beijing, and the Dongcheng and Pinggu Bureaus briefed the problems encountered and shared potential solutions. Attendees to the meeting engaged in lively discussion on the pilot inventory work, sorted out the various opinions on the verification of physical inventory, summarized and shared best practices and the difficulties identified, and proposed suggestions on the inventory work with Beijing characteristics.

Director Xu Zimeng recognized the achievement of Beijing’s inventory program, emphasizing that Beijing’s experience provided technical support for the program at the national level. Xu also called on relevant stakeholders to better identify practical problems, open their mind, and actively explore better inventory check solutions and new ways to scale up the experience gained so far.
