On March 17th of 2009, led by Zhu Jianmin, the Deputy Director of Beijing Water Authority (BWA), the 2nd inspection unit which specially strikes at illegal mining gave an inspection visit on Daxing District. The unit is made up of comrades in charge from Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources, Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, Beijing Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Committee, BWA, Beijing Administration of Work Safety, etc. The inspection unit made the on-site inspection of the sandstone protection on riverbed of Yongding River within the Daxing after hearing the relative reports made by Shao Heng, the deputy district head of Daxing as well as Zhao Jianhua, the director of Daxing Branch of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources. It highly praised the work of mining resources protection in our district: firstly, leaders of the district gave enough attention to the work and we have sound organizations; secondly, we have taken effective measures together with comprehensive treatment, thus achieving good results; thirdly, we positively publicized the mineral resources protection and gained the understanding and support from the mass. The above measures greatly stroke at the illegal mining behaviors, and restricted its expansion. Meanwhile, the unit stressed that it shall strengthen the inspection to severely attack the improper exploitation in each means on one hand, and safeguard the mineral resources from all aspects on the other hand.
