On March 18, 2010, companied by Zhang Wei, Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources, and Mu Peng, Deputy Chief of the District, Hu Cunzhi, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Chief Planner of MLR took an investigation into the land use for the renovation of key villages at rural-urban fringe zone in Haidian District and had an on-the-spot inspection at Tangjialing Village of Xibeiwang Town. The investigation was carried out around the following three aspects: the land use for the renovation of key villages of rural-urban fringe zone listed in the city's agenda; problems occurred in the renovation and measures adopted by the government to deal with the problems; the housing problem of the floating population and economic development issues of rural-urban fringe zone during the urbanization and industrialization process. The District leaders pointed out that based on the successful experience in the renovation of Beiwu Village, the Party Committee of Haidian District and Haidian District Government shall adhere to the idea of "led by the government, carried out by the farmers and guided by innovative policies", and adopt a holistic approach for the renovation of key villages at rural-urban fringe zone. The 8 key villages listed in the city's agenda shall aim to gain a new look; the people's living standard will be improved; the upgrading of collective economy industrialization will be accelerated; and the development environment of the core area of Zhongguancun state-level demonstration area will be further optimized. The district leaders also exchanged views comprehensively on the difficult and hot issues encountered in the comprehensive transformation and renovation of Tangjialing Village with leaders of Ministry of Land and Resources and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources. The leaders of Ministry of Land and Resources said they would carry out careful research on the key and difficult problems in the renovation in efforts to constantly promote the construction of the key villages in rural-urban fringe zone.
