The Bajia Project in Haidian District has been going smoothly. As of May 5, agreements on demolition and relocation have been signed with 640 households of this area, accounting for 47% of the total. On April 28, 2010, the Land Reserve Fund Supervision Group of Bajia Project examined and approved 134 agreements on compensation for demolition and relocation, and in order to speed up the project, Haidian Office of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources held a director meeting in an urgent manner the next day to examine and approve the agreements. On the director meeting, main leaders took thorough examinations over 50 agreements selected randomly out of the 134, had discussions on the agreements based on the spirits conveyed in Method for the Use of Land Reserve Fund for the Overall Reclamation and Primary Development of Land in Bajia Region, Assessing Issues of the Assessment Group for the Project of Land Reclamation in Bajia Region, Dongsheng Township, Detailed Rules on the Compensation for Demolition and Relocation for the Overall Reclamation and Primary Development of Land in Bajia Region, and Minutes of Meetings of the Command for the Project of Land Reclamation in Bajia Region, and finally reached consensus for approval. Through the 134 agreements, the resettlement for 481 residents has been resolved. 348 houses with a total area of 28,928.81 m2 will be provided; the payable amount for the resettlement totals 100,382,830.4 Yuan. The staff of the Haidian Office worked extra shifts during the May Day Holiday in an effort to give the compensation to the involved people in time, which gained praises from the people.
