Rainfalls are frequent in our city after the inception of the main flood season, the soil moisture content in most mountainous areas is nearly saturate and the probability of the occurrence of geological disasters is increased. Our bureau takes the following measures to do a good on preventing geological disasters in the main flood season:
　　Make emergency surveys in time. The geological disaster emergency survey team implements the 24-hour on-duty system in the flood season and is ready all the time to go to scenes of sudden geological disasters soonest to make surveys, analyze the causes of disasters and suggest relief and prevention measures. After the inception of the flood reason, our bureau has sent 25 emergency persons-time to conduct 8 emergency surveys.
　　Hold an emergency drill. On August 2, an “emergency drill against geological disasters in the flood season” was held in Caojiafang Village, Shijiaying Town, Fangshan District to further increase the ability the masses in the disaster-prone areas to avoid dangers and save themselves and others in emergency and enhance the grass roots’ ability to deal with disasters.
　　Reexamine prevention of geological disasters in the main flood season. From July 26 to August 9,we reexamined the prevention work of the seven mountainous districts and counties, i.e. Mentougou, Fangshan, Miyun, Changping, Yanqing, Pinggu and Huairou, in the main flood season. Judging from the result of the reexamination, all branch bureaus attach great importance to prevention of geological disasters in the main flood season, know the situation well, are clear about priorities, do examination and itinerant inspection properly, have a sound organizational structure and have assigned responsibilities to specific persons.
