On 26 June 2012, BMBLR's Division of Mineral Resources Development organized a meeting, examining and verifying the Third Batch of National Level Green Mining Pilot Units Application Materials. According to the voluntary based principle of application, four enterprises submitted their application. With pre-meeting verification of the materials and hearing debriefing during the meeting by experts, three enterprises were deemed to have met the application requirements and were approved to submit to the Ministry of Land and Resources for final approval; the other one didn't meet the application requirements and was suggested to apply again after relevant requirements were met.
In light of the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Land and Resources of China, and in combination with the features and traits of the social and economic development of Beijing as the capital city of the country, Beijing earnestly implements the Scientific Outlook on Development and defines strategically that by 2015 the basic green mining pattern be built and then be implemented step by step. Currently, there are 38 solid mines, 9 of which having been listed as the national level green mine pilot units in two batches, and are planning their construction according to the Green Mine Standards. The development of green mine construction promotes positively the healthy and sustainable development of mining enterprises of Beijing, and boosts the "scientific mining, effective use of resources, standardized management of enterprises, environment friendly production technology and ecologicalized mining environment."
