The Beijing Land Reserve and Development Plan 2012 was released to the public on 5 July 2012. The plan basically accomplishes a land reserve at a scale of 2,800 hectares with 65% for use of residential purposes, 35% for use of commercial service and other uses. Spatially, 65% of it is in center city and new planning city. The proposed amount of investment for it in 2012 is CNY 90 billion.
According to the overall requirement of "restructuring and transforming methods of land reserve", new land reserve projects will be strictly controlled in 2012. Apart from the key projects of the city government, low-income housing projects, stock construction land activation, there will be no more newly added projects in principle. At the same time, preference will be given to key projects of the city government, construction of Rural-Urban Continuum, and oriented replacement housing projects, concerning use of land reserve.
