Active Measures to Cope with “8.11” Rainstorm by BMBLR

  BMBLR took active measures to cope with the "8.11" heavy rainfall. BMBLR handed out the Notification on Coping With Rainstorm to branch bureaus in ten mountain districts and counties immediately after receiving it from Beijing Emergency Management Office. The main leaders of branch bureaus and the Flood Control Headquarter are required to stay on-duty, keeping a close eye on the rainstorm and flood information and getting ready to start up the emergency response plan when necessary. Public geological disaster control network should be started up and mess transfer measures should be taken in emergent situation to safeguard the safety of the villagers. The emergency inspection teams of BMRLR are required to stay on-duty 24 hours a day to get well-prepared to cope with the possible geological disaster. The branch bureaus are required to strengthen information submitting work. The rainstorm information should be submitted every half hour, and the disaster information and response measures should be submitted before 7 o'clock on the next day.
  No geological disaster caused by the heavy rainfall was reported by 7 o'clock on August 12.
