On November 15, 2013, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources organized the 2013 meeting to review and accept the updating outcome of benchmark land prices.7 experts from universities and professional fields were invited to the meeting. And representatives from the Municipal Bureau Legal Affairs Division, Control & Monitoring Division, Research Office, Land Use Division, Land Use Center and Reserve Center were also present at the meeting. The expert panel listened carefully to the report about the updating outcome of benchmark land prices, reviewed the outcome materials and photo books and inquired about the calculation of benchmark land prices, selection of grading factors and relevant revising system before making proposals on the application of benchmark land prices. The expert panel agreed that the updating research of benchmark land prices in Beijing was quite original with the outcomes being systematic and practical. They also believed the outcomes are worthy of being referred to by similar studies in other Chinese cities. The updating outcomes, in a fact-based way, reflect the actual situation in the land market in Beijing and can meet the government's needs for precise management. Besides, they can also help establish the public and transparent land price management system. The expert panel proposed the outcomes should be submitted for approval and released as soon as possible.
