In 2013, the Bureau provided technical supports against illegal mining, and inspected the exploitation and use of mineral resources and newly-closed mines to enhance the supervision on the exploitation and use of mineral resources, prevent mine enterprises from illegal mining and resulting work safety accidents, and strongly combat illegal mining. Beijing Institute of Geological Engineering Design, Beijing Institute of Geological Survey, and Beijing Tiandihongtu Surveying Co., Ltd. became the winners in bidding for implementation. After nine months, the two programs were successfully completed, and all inspection reports were reviewed by experts.

On March 7, 2014, a program summary and data handover meeting was held on to fully use the achievements and provide technical basis for sub-bureaus to manage and enforce mineral resources. The implementation of the two programs was fully summarized and the development of future programs was discussed in the meeting. The responsible units also handed over the inspection reports, drawings and other relevant data to the Mineral Development Division of the Bureau and the six sub-bureaus (Changping sub-bureau, Mentougou sub-bureau, Shunyi sub-bureau, Fangshan sub-bureau, Miyun sub-bureau and Huairou sub-bureau) in the meeting.

Chen Yixin, Deputy Chief Planner and Director of Mineral Development Division of the Bureau, expressed some requirements on the meeting: all sub-bureaus should fully use the achievements of mineral management and enforcement, and realize the refined management and all-round coverage to improve the management performance; all units in charge were expected to continuously provide technical support.
