In order to implement the spirit of Xi Jinping's series of important speeches and in accordance with the requirements for advancing the "Five-in-One" general layout in an overall manner and the "Four-Pronged Comprehensive" strategy in a coordinated manner, seven ministries and commissions including the former Ministry of Land and Resources jointly issued the Circular on Issuing the Measures for Unified Verification and Registration of Rights to Natural Resources (for Trial Implementation) (Guo Tu Zi Fa [2016] No.192), deciding to implement the unified verification and registration of ownership to seven types of natural resources across the country, including mineral resources with verified reserves. The Ministry of Land and Resources has chosen Guizhou Province and Fujian Province as pilot provinces for the unified verification and registration of ownership to mineral resources with verified reserves and decided to complete the pilot work in June 2018.

In order to figure out the reserves of mineral resources in Beijing, and make full data preparation for the forthcoming unified verification and registration of ownership to mineral resources with verified reserves, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources has set up the project under the municipal finance in 2018 to carry out the sorting-out of data on reserves of mineral resources in Beijing. This work is to correct, supplement and improve information on resource reserves, coordinate ranges, and ore quality of mining areas/mines listed in the reserve database by mainly using various reports on reserves of mineral resources.

The Geological Archives has launched special services for the project: firstly, classify and screen geological data in the collection, and form a aggregated catalog of reports on reserve verification and reports on minerals under construction land; secondly, through the analysis of reports reserve verification, clarity the corresponding relationships between the 256 reports on reserve verification in the collection and the mining areas in the reserve table; thirdly, sort out reports on minerals under construction land, and find the 164 reports on newly covered resource reserves, involving 199 mining areas in total. Such services play an important role in the project approval argumentation and work plan preparation.

In the future, the Geological Archives will continue to follow up the progress of the project and provide better services as needed by the implementing agencies.
