Recently, the personnel from the Geological Data Library went to the warehouse of Beijing Institute of Geological Survey to accept the core of the "Investigation and Evaluation of Major Geological Problems in the Sub-center Area of Tongzhou City" Project on site.
Through comprehensive research, the project has determined five holocene active faults in the area, ascertained the history and current situation of land subsidence development, which provides new supporting data for neotectonics in the sub-central area of Tongzhou City and the groundwater exploitation plan based on prevention and control of land subsidence, and further enriches the basic data of underground space development in the area. The engineering geology of the project is to deeply drill 9 holes, with a total footage of 4,214 meters. All holes are taken from the core with PVC pipes sealed. The selected class-II physical geological data have important storage and utilization value and are planned to be transported and put into warehouse in the near future.
