Beijing Municipal Commission for City Planning and Land Resources Management Officially Announces the Names of the Stations in the Section of Phase III and phase IV Projects of the Rail Transit Line 8

According to the Beijing rail transit network planning, in order to cooperate with the implementation of rail transit project planning and construction, and in accordance with the relevant regulations of the State and Beijing Municipality on the administration of place names, the Beijing Municipal Commission for City Planning and Land Resources Management follows the naming principle of “conforming to history, taking care of habits, embodying planning, and finding good records” to put forward the naming scheme of station names for phase III and phase IV projects in rail transit line 8. With the approval of the municipal government, the notice on naming the stations on this line was issued recently.

The route of Rail Transit line 8 phase III and phase IV projects spans Dongcheng District, Xicheng District, Fengtai District and Daxing District, starting from Donghuamen Street in Dongcheng District in the north and reaching Yinghai Town in Daxing District in the south. The total length of the line is about 20 kilometers, and there are 16 stations along the route, of which 5 transfer stations have been named. The newly named 11 stations from the north to the south are: Jinyu Hutong Station, Tianqiao Station, Muxiyuan Station, Haihutun Station, Dahongmen South Station, Heyi Station, Eastgaodi Station, Huojian Wanyuan Station, Wufutang Station, Demao Station and Yinghai Station.
