The people's government and the party committee of Huairou District held a meeting on strictly checking and punishing illegal residence constructions on May 18. The meeting was presided over by Wang Shilong, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Principal Vice District Mayor of Huairou District. Over 50 persons attended the meeting, including Wang Haiping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the District, Wang Guiping, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection of the District, Li Shujiang, Member of Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and Judicial and Law Enforcement Committee of the District, Zhu Zihe, Vice District Mayor, principals in party committees and governments of 9 towns (townships), leaders from District Offices of Municipal Supervision Bureau, Public Security Bureau and Land and Resources Bureau, and other related personnel.  

　　On the meeting, Zhu Zihe reported the progress of work on checking and punishing illegal residence constructions in the District since 2007, analyzed the situations and major problems in the work, and put forward five measures for the next move on the work. The Secretaries of the Party Committees of Yangsong Town and other 3 towns which face the most serious problems reported their work already done in fighting against illegal behaviors and their work plans for the next move.

　　After listening to the reports by the district government and party committees of each town, Wang Haiping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the District gave a speech, pointing out that our district is facing serious situation in fighting against illegal constructions, and we must attach great importance to the work, and take every measure necessary to punish illegal construction, especially illegal residence construction. 1. No matter how hard it is, make illegal residence construction projects (under construction or planning) stop within one week; 2. Each party committee and people's government of town should make thorough research and work out a practical solution to the issue by this Friday; 3. Publicity and education of policies, laws and regulations should be improved. Instruct the cadres and the masses in the rural area to correctly understand the policies and regulations for the construction of new rural area, keeping them on the right track.
