The Digitization of Archives of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources Now Achieved

January 5th 2011, the project of archive digitization of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources (BMBLR) (phase III) passed final check and acceptance, symbolizing that all BMBLR's archives by the end of year 2008 have been digitized, and smoothly connected to the daily archive digitization work after 2009.

  A total of three phases of archive digitization work were carried out by BMBLR from 2005 to 2010, which involve contents of 1,164,322 volumes (pieces) in 45,720,612 pages. The digitized archives cover all service information managed by BMBLR, mainly including cadastral administration, planning of land use, construction land, land market and mineral resources. The achievements of archive digitization have been widely applied in administrative management of land and resources in Beijing, which has shortened service handling lead-time and improved work efficiency. Meanwhile, they have also laid solid foundations for sharing archive information, providing various circles of society with convenient, efficient, safe and accurate information service, as well as for constructing Digital Archives.

  Xie Junqi, Vice Director of BMBLR, stated that after the fulfillment of digitization of all BMBLR's archives, professional archives of all offices should be incorporated into daily digitization work, and connected to archive digitization achievements. Xie added that BMBLR will speed up construction of Digital Archives project, gradually perfect BMBLR's archive management system, extend the application scope of the achievements, and realize the connection of archive information, so as to facilitate various work. He also said that the achievements of archive digitization should be included into the "General Supervision Information Platform of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources" to facilitate related work.
