The geothermal well Jinghai No.2 (injection) located at northeastern side of the playground of Peking University Health Science Center has been completed and passed the quality acceptance of Geothermal Energy Department of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources. There have been 534 core samples obtained, 31 rock-mineral identifications completed in the geothermal well whose well depth is 3,358m, water yield is 1,229 m³, and extracted water temperature is 51 degrees centigrade, which provide full and accurate data for further grasp of the geological data of the region. Jinghai No.1 geothermal well of Peking University  Health Science  Center is under urgent construction and is expected to be completed in 2016. The two geothermal wells under construction this time are one geothermal production well and one geothermal injection well planned to be used for the heating of the indoor pool on campus and bath of faculty and students. The Bureau will continue to have strict requirements on construction units to ensure project quality and provide service and support for Peking  University Health  Science Center after government review and approval and go through related procedures of mining rights after procedures of exploration rights has been handled. Meanwhile, by means of compiling Program for Exploitation and Utilization of Geothermal Resources, etc., Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources has developed thoughts and promoted more rational utilization and development of valuable geothermal resources for campus to further utilize geothermal resources in medical treatment and other modes.
