Recently, more than 20 old leaders and comrades served by the Bureau of Retired Veteran Cadres of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee visited the construction site of Beijing Urban Sub-center, accompanied by Zhang Yaqin (the deputy inspector of the Commission), Du Liqun (vice-president of the municipal institute of city planning & design) and responsible comrades of the General Office of Sub-center of the Commission in the whole process.

   The old leaders and comrades first came to the planning sandboxie exhibition hall of the urban sub-center to have a comprehensive understanding of the planning and construction concept, spatial layout, target positioning and ancient city protection of the sub-center, etc.. Later, they went to the No. 2 terminal of the Canal Olympic Park and collectively took a boat to inspect the water system management and landscape layout of the Tongzhou section (10 km) of the Grand Canal. Finally, they went to the Grand Canal Forest Park and walked all the way to listen to the working reports on history and culture, management of water system, protection of ecological environment and construction of administrative office areas in Tongzhou District, etc..       

    Through this visit, old leaders and comrades fully understood the overall planning and construction of Beijing Urban Sub-center, affirmed the achievements made in the planning and construction of the sub-center, and expressed full confidence in the development prospects of Beijing Urban Sub-center.
