To standardise the drawing of the delimitations between the administrative divisions of the Beijing Municipality on Beijing-related maps, we have developed the “Geographic Base Maps 2019 for the Delimitations between the Administrative Divisions of the Beijing Municipality,” which are hereby issued. The maps furthermore standardise the names of each administrative division and the location of the government office thereof marked on such maps in accordance with the Regulations of the Beijing Municipality on Surveying and Mapping and the Provisions for the Administration of the Delimitations between the Administrative Divisions of the Beijing Municipality. Relevant matters are hereby informed as follows:

 I. The “Geographic Base Maps 2019 for the Delimitations between the Administrative Divisions of the Beijing Municipality,” totalling 50.

(i) Colour and monochromatic folio, quarto, octavo and 16mo maps of the Beijing Municipality, totalling 8.

(ii) Colour and monochromatic folio, quarto, octavo, 16mo and 32-mo maps of the six urban districts (Dongcheng District, Xicheng District, Chaoyang District, Fengtai District, Shijingshan District, and Haidian District) of the Beijing Municipality, totalling 10.

(iii) Colour and monochromatic octavo maps of the 16 districts of the Beijing Municipality, totalling 32. These base maps primarily represent delimitations between administrative divisions, names of administrative divisions and government offices, and also represent water systems, main roads, residential areas, parks, green spaces and other geographic features. The Base Maps 2019 have more maps than the Base Maps 2016. This is because the octavo maps of the 16 districts of the Beijing Municipality, totalling 32, are added to meet the needs in each district of the Beijing Municipality. The Base Maps 2019 can serve as basis for compiling Beijing-related maps and are available to the public. The formats of these base maps are JPG and PDF.

II. The “Geographic Base Maps 2019 for the Delimitations between the Administrative Divisions of the Beijing Municipality” are provided free of charge for use by the public, and are downloadable at the website of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources (ghzrzyw.beijing.gov.cn), the website of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs (mzj.beijing.gov.cn)  and the website of the National Platform for Common Geospatial Information Services (beijing.tianditu.gov.cn).

III. These maps do not serve as a basis for mediation of boundary disputes.
